Type Camp FAQs
How much is Type Camp?
Prices vary from camp to camp but the information can be found at the bottom of each specific camp page.
Does the price include transportation to the camp?
No. The Type Camp fee does NOT include your flights to the Camp itself. We do, however, generally cover all scheduled transportation during the camp.
I’m a student. Is there a discount?
We try to keep the price low for everyone so there are no discounts for students at this time.
I am a vegetarian/vegan/picky eater. What will I do about food?
Chefs prepare all meals and they will cater for your needs, including allergies. No worries, we promise.
What shall I bring?
Once you have paid your deposit, we will send you a detailed schedule and a specific list of what to bring, including clothing, supplies, etc.
Do I have to bring my laptop?
We will tell you if you need your computer. If we say you won’t need it, then you won’t need it.
Do I have to be a professional designer with accreditation?
As long as you have an interest in the field, you are welcome to attend. We have had many students attend, some just beginning and some just finishing their education. You could also be an experienced designer—it doesn’t matter where you are or how you got there, just that you’re ready to try new ways of looking at typography.
Travel and cancellation policies (please read this prior to registering for a camp)
Each camp requires a minimum number of participants in order to run. If a camp does not have enough participants by the cut-off date (which will differ for each camp) then the camp will have to be cancelled. All existing fees paid by registrants to Type Camp are fully refundable in the case that a camp has to be cancelled due to lack of registrants. If for any other reasons a registrant cancels more then one month prior to a camp, fees paid less $350 will be refunded. There are no refunds for registrant cancellations made within one month of the camp registered for. If you choose to book flights far in advance of a Type Camp event, we suggest you add flight cancellation insurance to any travel insurance policy you choose as we can not refund any travel-related fees. All travel arrangements to and from a Type Camp event are the sole resposibility of the registrant.
