Because the Saturday 20 April camp sold out, we have added a new camp on Sunday 21 April. All registrations are now for the Sunday workshop.
Do you wish you had a better signature or could write your name more professionally?
This Type Camp will focus exclusively on signatures, including those famous ones from the past (John Hancock) to the present (Oprah). After a discussion about the different varieties of scripts, we will help you develop your own hand lettering style so that you can create a new visual identity. You will learn about and create with a variety of lettering styles, letter skeletons, pointed brush lettering techniques, and detailed lettering refinements. Never done this before? No problem! We promise that you don’t need to have had any previous experience in hand lettering or typography.
By the end of the workshop, you will have a beautiful, brush lettered, and stylized finished piece that you can use for a variety of practical purposes. It could be used as your email signature or a wordmark for your business cards or even for your own personal greeting cards. The lettering and script skill set and procedural method can be applied to future projects as well.
We will start promptly at 10am, continue until our lunch break at 1pm, and then resume the workshop unti 5pm.
This workshop will take place in the executive area of the always cool Fluevog Gastown Vancouver store. We’ll be surrounded by the world’s funkiest shoes, which means we’ll probably be trying on a few pairs during our lunch break!
